Central Oregon is a wild place, and in the spring that is no exception. Our weather can vary widely and you can be skiing the summit of Mount Bachelor in the morning and Mountain Biking the lowlands after you take in a brewery patio for lunch. That said, here is a quick upcoming guide of things to do before Memorial Day that can make Central Oregon Fantastic.

Visit and attend a talk or conference.
In between outdoor activities, a good option is to attend one of our talks or conferences. If you didn’t know, Bend has a TEDx event and a Women’s conference as well. Often though you can find unique talks that are less crowded, and this year in 2019 is no exception with Matthias “SUPER FRENCHIE” Giraud at the Oregon outdoor alliance.

Matthias will be reviewing an interactive media presentation that explores lessons learned from a life of extreme sports on April 10th at 6-8:30 pm at the 10Barrel East Side Pub. You can get tickets here.
Mount Bachelor Big Wave Challenge
If you are looking for more mountain adventure, and still craving the snow, the Mount Bachelor Big Wave Challenge is back on again this year. Inspired by the event’s host — legendary surfer and Mt. Bachelor Ambassador, Gerry Lopez. The idea of the Mt. Bachelor Big Wave Challenge is to bring the surf to the mountain with huge pipes, corners and spines incorporated into the natural terrain on the course.

This is a spectacle to behold, so if you are competing or spectating, you will be broadly impressed. This event is on Fri, Apr 12 – Sun, Apr 14 from Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. You can find registration here and the agenda here.
Banff Mountain Film Festival at the Tower Theatre

Ah, the famous Banff Mountain Film Festival! What better place to catch this then at the historic and iconic Tower Theatre in Bend. If you are looking for an excuse to “Spring” into Bend, let this be it. 9 years running and full off adrenaline and adventure, experience Bends restaurant and nightlife and enjoy the Tower. The event is on Sat. and Sun. the evening of Apr. 27th and 28th. You can buy tickets here.
Lodging, Golf, and Easter at Brasada

If you want a unique lodging location, with world-class golf and an excellent Easter celebration. Brasada is your place. Bring the extended-family, why not! Brasada has a great farm-to-table restaurant and you can find the Easter menu here.
You can find more about lodging here and golf here.
Rendezvan @ Mount Bachelor
Mount Bachelor has a unique and amazing community, this really shines in the spring. One of the events that help this to shine is the Rendezvan April 17th to the 21st.

RendezVan is the celebration of our amazing community of RVers, campers, and van-lifers who make the annual pilgrimage to Mt. Bachelor in the springtime to enjoy soft spring laps and sunshine. Families, skiers, riders, and all travelers are welcome — even the dogs are invited!
If this is your cup of tea, and you love Spring in the mountains, you can register here and get more info here.
Of course, there are a ton of other things going on, but we tried to keep the more mainstream items off the list here. You can always go find a calendar of events here, here or here.
Enjoy the high desert spring!
